Stop Photo-Tag Malware on Facebook

Posted in Uncategorized by diptoe on April 20, 2011

Dear Facebook Friends: Please please PLEASE do three things for me:

(1) If you or a friend are tagged in an unusual photo on Facebook, don’t click on it. These photos range from risque to ordinary, are usually accompanied by a weird description, and always include a link.

(2) Go to your privacy settings, select “Customize Settings,” and scroll down to where it says, “Suggest photos of me to friends.” Click on “Edit Settings” and select “Disable.” This should help.

(3) Spread the word to your friends. Share this article or the two articles I’ve linked to below.

For more info, see this article about Facebook photos becoming a security problem, and here for a photo guide to changing the privacy setting I mentioned in step two.
